Hyerin Eom

by Leya Wüllner

Hyerin’s work explores and communicates her roots through clear forms. In performative engagement with sculptural elements, it becomes apparent that it is her use of performative language which calls for these forms more than anything else. Each of her works creates an expansive experience that seeks to raise more questions than it attempts to answer. With skill and courage, Hyerin moves in apparent symbiosis with her sculptures. She herself does not feel insecurity or fear during her performances, rather the viewers take over these feelings and are thus fully drawn into the spell of the work.

Hyerin was born in South Korea in 1991 and studied Asian ink painting before coming to Germany in 2018. She began her fine arts studies at Kunstakademie Münster in 2020.
